I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since I recorded ‘two ghosts’. Well, I’ve decided to kick around some new ideas, record an EP, and start focusing on life as a one person live turntablist entity. here’s the official statement I released to explain the transition and new direction of BEDM. I want to make art for the rest of my life. My goal is to be self sustaining and see the world through music. I believe being able to play and travel as a one person entity gives me the best chance of doing that.
……
the latest news in the ‘wOOt’ catagory: erik stanfill’s vid for 3000 FLARES is up for an award from no exit fest! you go, erik! thanks for letting BEDM be a part. big ups to everyone involved in the vid!:)

old(er) news: two ghosts / three parties:
whew. dave said it best: “that was a blast“. thank you for the party, nemo! we should put out records more often… it was three parties in three weekends with cupcakes, mannaquins, miss murgatroid(!), and—most importantly—peeps kind enough to check our music. THANK YOU.

miss murgatroid, aka alicia j rose, joined us at the nemo party and squeezed some extra life into ‘with the village bells’ and ‘damned’.
the peeps at doug fir were dancing, drinking, and cupcake eating. the smiles on our faces havn’t faded.
it’s official. according to several 6th graders we are better then green day.
for the kids it was the end of the year party—tropical style. beach balls flying everywhere. competetive gatoraide drinking. pizza. dancing. and a pair of large blow-up toys—one a whiplash inducing bungee obstacle—the other a velcro wall.
benjy- 1. velcro wall- 0.
we have some amazing new band pics thanks to our talented pal Alicia J Rose. check some of em’ here. alicia doubles as miss murgatroid who lays down some serious accordion squeeze in one of the trax on two ghosts. check this recent spread on her in pure music. the girl has got some serious game!
and also in the talented friends department: bridgetown breaks showed us some love. thanks, PJ! bridgetown breaks: a good purchase. I can’t recommend a good breaks record enough for any and all party occasions….
along with being an excellent hand model, jeff saltzman is a great mastering engineer. there’s more on that and the recording of two ghosts in the recording diary.
Ought-seven has been an interesting year but let’s get the 08′ party started, yes?
the 12 days of xmas aint over yet though: there was one more present under the tree from our friends at the mighty oregonian. Thanks Santa! we got mentioned in one of pampelmoose’s year recaps and Lisa Wood’s KEXP blog. I also made a list, which Peter and Benjy contributed to, over at the Portland Mercury.
and if that weren’t all merry enough….we made a cute and scary song called Christmas Infomercial. you can hear it over at KUFO’s Viva La Podcast on part 2 of the 12/16/07 show. the song is kind of silly. you’ve been warned!
peter gives it up for karaoke after the eugene show
meanwhile, Gwyn assures Benjy she isn’t the one who yelled ‘Free Bird!’…
ah Eugene. we love you.
